Isn't private air charter extremely expensive?

Like most forms of travel, the cost can vary depending on a variety of factors.

One reason private air charter can be expensive is that flights tend to have more empty seats in comparison to commercial air travel.

To help bypass that unnecessary, added cost, you can invite others to join you to maximize your aircraft. We also utilize the largest marketplace of Part 135 aircraft available so you can pick the right aircraft to meet your budget. For example, for a recent trip we quoted from Nashville to Tuscaloosa, the per seat price was only $650 for a direct flight – just $150 over the best commercial option. And, by flying Airvel, the passengers saved $300 in hotel fees (per person) since they were able to fly back that same day.

That’s the Airvel advantage.

How much do you charge?

Our goal at Airvel is to take the guesswork out of private air charter and empower you to find the best fit for your budget. Through our industry relationships and search engine, we have access to thousands of aircraft. Our compensation comes in the form of a transaction fee added to the price charged by the operator. We don’t receive any payment until your flight is confirmed and all seats are full.

What fees and taxes do you charge?

Fees and taxes may vary depending on the nature of your flight. For example, if you are not flying back that same day, the air carrier may charge an overnight fee which includes the cost of the crew’s lodging, transportation and meals during your stay.

At Airvel, we believe in providing you with complete price transparency, including the applicable fees and taxes. When you request confirmed pricing, you will see a detailed breakdown of the your estimated flight cost.

Is the price listed on the marketplace guaranteed?

The price of each flight is determined by the Part 135 operator. The price shown on the Airvel marketplace is an estimate based on historical, aggregated data. In the event that the operator counters with a higher price, we will contact you with other flight options.

How do I make a reservation and how far in advance should it be?

You can search available flights anytime on our website. Generally, we recommend that you book at least a week in advance so you can choose from a wide variety of planes and we can get you the best deal possible. However, we can get you in the air in as little as a couple of hours.

Is private air charter safe?

Safety is our number one priority. Airvel operates under the umbrella of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the authority over all regulation and compliance of private air charter.
